You may choose to attend local chapter meetings, Regional Education Assistance Programs or our National Annual Conference. You may ask for an IMA instructor to come to speak at your work place on a customized topic or subscribe to our monthly video-based subscription program to share with your group. You can even read our monthly publication Strategic Finance, requesting a quarterly quiz for CPE hours. In each case, you are securing a quality education opportunity for minimal cost.

Read our publications, Management Accounting Magazine and Strategic Finance which address the most timely topics that affect the field of corporate accounting. Participate in the IMA’s electronic bulletin board. Utilize our employment network to post a job opening or to look for a new position. Call our confidential Ethics Counseling Service hotline if you need advice immediately. Our national Information Center has one of the largest collections of information - in all media formats - in the management accounting and financial management field. We also support special foundations dedicated to research, benchmarking and continuous improvements in our field. As a member, you have a credible source to turn to for this valuable information.

While professional development topics are covered in our meetings and seminars, more importantly, we offer an opportunity for actual experience as a volunteer at local chapter, regional or national levels. Working on the Board gives you the experience of participating on a management team, creating a strategic plan and achieving group goals - skills that are easily transferable to the workplace.

Belonging to IMA means that you have current ties to the academic and corporate communities outside your specific industry. You may choose to belong to special member interest groups, like the Controller’s Council and the Cost Management Group.
